The Paper Computer Games Universe, also called the PCG Universe for short, is the universe in which most Paper Computer Games take place. It's similar to the real world, in that Earth exists, and is the home of human life. However there are a number of differences. For example, in the PCG universe there's another subspecies of Humans known as Guys who typically serve as henchmen.
The universe is the setting for Xaq's battles against The Company, Balzak Globotron's quest to discover his origins, Liit's exploration of Zoniat, and The Perfect One's quest for perfection and revenge. And many, many more.
Unique Laws of Physics[]
Save Game is one ability held by many characters in this universe.
Time System[]
The PCG Universe uses a different time system, being 1000 years behind the real world. This is chronicled in the New Timeline.
Geography[]
Earth has many of the same locations as in the real world, plus many others. The lost city of Atlantis was located somewhere under the Sewers.
There are also a number of alien planets. Most notably, in a passage of space known as the Mez'Dora Corridor, worlds such as Shri, Zoniat, Getzor, Shairek, and more are the locations of alien civilizations.
History[]
Origins[]
- Main articles: Diz Catastrophe, Babel event
The universe was created by means which are to this day unknown. God created the first man and Castitas, the first woman. The next events happened as a result of a tragedy in another universe. The city of Diz, later known as Babel, was blasted out of the Soluna universe as a result of the machinations of Modestus. Castitas found her way into babel and a new tragedy unfolded from there. By that time, the city had a new human population. (Soul Symphony: "Exile" - "Epitaph of Sin"; "Soluna"; Chronicles Addendum)
- This was stated in conversations with the Soul Symphony series creator.
Restructuring[]
In the year 1004, the universe underwent a restructuring event for unknown reasons. For a while, it was putting itself back together, causing people, places and things to be smashed together in various ways. This resulted in the creation of the PCG Multiverse, and also caused reverberations throughout the universe for years to come. (Series 2: "The Fabric of Reality")
The Collision[]
In 1022, a branch of The Company known as Factor X tampered with an immense dormant power source inside the sentient moon Gron-Fresnell. In doing so, they opened up the PCG Multiverse, causing many creatures from other universes to come through portals everywhere, but mostly on Mars, where, according to The Wizard Sluiceface, "the magic is strongest".
Relationship to other universes[]
There are many alternate universes in the PCG Multiverse, many of which are very similar to the PCG Universe, and have alternate versions of PCG Characters. For example, the dimension which is the setting for Ginkus' Gift. Quite often, material is transferred to or from an alternate universe. For example, Link is from Hyrule, while the Borg Queen is from the Star Trek Universe. Ginkus also has an incarnation in that universe, known as Gankorz.
