Gnome: The Return was a simple PCG created only to demonstrate how to make PCGs for the YouTube video, "How to Make a Paper Computer Game" on the official YouTube channel.
Story & Situation[]
You play as a Gnome who must rescue his wife from the Trolls, who have captured her.
The Game[]
The game features only five screens (plus a cover and Inventory Screen). They are:
- A puzzle where the Gnome must get past a Troll who is on top of a hill with a boulder.
- The interior of a cottage.
- A Maze Screen.
- A Flight Screen.
- A screen where Gnome must fight a Troll who has taken his wife Jul.
Sequels & Prequels[]
Gnome: The Return has inspired a whole series of sequels and prequels, known collectively as The Gnome Saga. This series has been contributed to by many artists including Epic Worlds PCG, VoidDevX1, Magic Paper Productions, J P G S, and others. These games have greatly fleshed out the lore of Gnome, introducing new characters and ideas, and building on each other's work. You can even find a remake of this game titled Gnome: The Return (Remake) by Epic Worlds PCG.
